Organised by the team behind market-leading website and magazine University Business, Young Leaders attracted a glittering array of movers and shakers from the Higher Education sector. They witnessed a thrilling and emotional evening, as winners were announced from shortlists of three in a variety of categories, from Digital Trailblazer to Nifty Networker. But, as the judging panel and compere on the night Professor David Russell acknowledged, everyone was a winner, such was the high standard of entries.

Daniel started working with the University of Sunderland’s IT Services department in October 2003 as a Modern Apprentice, before moving into the role of Systems Administrator, and then Systems Manager. Today he is running a team of staff as IT Service Development Manager. During this time Daniel has gained a First in BSc Computer Studies.

Amy’s work for the historic reinterment of Richard III was invaluable, both to the University and members of the Richard III partnership involving Leicester Cathedral, the city, and county councils. For the University, Amy was instrumental in completing the story of Richard III across print and digital platforms. In the two weeks leading up to the reinterment, she prepared a number of tweets retelling the history of the University’s discovery. This involved a mixture of images, videos, quotes and links to news items.
